A lot of spotlight has recently been given to team-based tournaments, but now the sponsors are taking a turn to address the need for a major 1v1 event that has been clamoured for by the AoC scene for quite some time. Loosely following the formula of Brain Champion Cup series, comes a new 1v1 tournament: Clash of the Titans.


Its most appealing aspects will undoubtedly be the twinkly $20,000 of prize pool, but also its rich variety of maps and settings. Unlike the BCC series, however, CoT will take far less time to find its champion, spanning a little over 2 months and scheduled to finish before Christmas. Come January 2014, a far bigger event is to be revealed then.

CoT registration begins right now, but the number of qualification stage spots is limited to 128. As more than that number of players are expected to sign up, the 128 accepted ones are to be determined by skill-level: a combination of recent achievements and current position in RM 1v1 - Ladder. The same formula is also going to be used to seed the participating players.

As it will still take a few weeks for CoT to kick into gear, we encourage everyone to satiate their 1v1 thirst by turning to The Top Experts League, where Chris, Viper, Jordan and RiuT are fighting for their honour.
